TechFlow reported a $236 million CoinGlass-based total for crypto liquidations over 24 hours, with short positions accounting for more of the reported value than long positions.

The report dated the separate 24-hour reading Oct. 16, without specifying the time zone or the window’s start and end times. It listed $144 million in short liquidations and $91.555 million in long liquidations; those amounts round to the reported total.

CoinGlass’s public liquidation page currently displays loading placeholders and dashes rather than a visible figure. Its API documentation describes historical liquidation data by coin across exchanges and requires a CG-API-KEY credential. A response would need to cover the relevant assets, exchanges and reporting window to verify a marketwide total.

Liquidation totals measure the value of positions forcibly closed, not necessarily traders’ cash losses. An earlier EconoTimes explanation of a separate liquidation tally describes how an exchange closes a leveraged position when its margin falls below the required level.
