TeleBit and Bitcoin TipBot for Slack are the chat platforms that enable users to perform bitcoin transactions. TeleBit was launched in mid-February and has reported the transaction of 41 BTC in total. While Bitcoin TipBot for Slack, developed by blockchain explorer and wallet firm BlockTrail, is a chat platform aimed at businesses.
Micropayments are becoming a popular way for bitcoin or other digital currencies to take over the established financial system. TeleBit co-founder Jonathan Harrison said that it already has nearly 6,400 registered users with 5,000 daily active users. Slack, on the other hand, reported around five lakh daily users this month.
"Most people are getting comfortable by sending tiny amounts, so we've had a huge number of transactions," Harrison said and added that he is now focussing on adding new users to TeleBit, so he is not charging any fees. Moreover, he has even subsidised miner fees incurred by the users who send funds to a non-TeleBit wallet.
