A warning about a Telegram transfer scam says fraudsters are using small GRAM payments to circulate fabricated Binance breach notices and steer recipients toward a supposed vault.
Scammers send the transfers through Telegram with false exchange announcements attached to their details, the warning says. The warning describes forged Binance notices in Telegram transfer details that direct recipients to send assets to a supposed ‘Binance vault.’
Binance said it had obtained about 95% of affected assets and would cover losses with company funds, the Secure Asset Fund for Users and Futures Insurance Fund. It expects to publish proof of reserves Nov. 3.
A Binance spokesperson said Sunday’s outflows remained modest relative to the assets the exchange manages, while transaction patterns stayed within expectations.
Binance said it had covered about 95% of the affected amount, with less-liquid tokens accounting for the remainder.
