Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Friday the company plans to reduce Cybertruck output at Gigafactory Texas around mid-2027, with the plant expected to build more Cybercabs.
Musk’s Nov. 6 post addressed production at the Texas facility. The production plan was also covered in EconoTimes’ earlier report on the Texas Cybertruck line.
Tesla’s third-quarter investor update lists installed annual capacity above 125,000 vehicles for both Cybertruck and Cybercab at the Texas factory. The company says that capacity figure does not represent the plant’s current production rate. Tesla’s update also dates the start of its Austin Robotaxi rides using Cybercabs to Sept. 3.
Separately, Tesla’s third-quarter filing lists investment in autonomy, robotics and AI-enabled products and infrastructure. Its second-quarter update said the company had decommissioned the Model S and Model X lines in Fremont while adding initial manufacturing lines for Optimus robots.
Tesla reported 8,295 deliveries in its “Other Models” category for the third quarter, 48% fewer than the 15,933 recorded a year earlier. The company did not provide a Cybertruck-only delivery figure, so the grouped total does not show how many Cybertrucks were delivered.
