Tesla shares fell 7.3% from their Oct. 9 close through Oct. 16, then climbed 3.76% on Oct. 19 to close at $368.06, ahead of the automaker’s third-quarter financial report due after Wednesday’s market close.

The shares lost about 2.1% on Oct. 16, the final session of that period. Tesla reported 486,532 vehicle deliveries for the third quarter. Tesla said vehicle deliveries and energy-storage deployments are only two measures of performance and should not be relied on as indicators of quarterly results. Selling prices, costs and other factors also affect results.

Tesla’s second-quarter report listed $5.79 billion in capital expenditures and negative free cash flow of $1.09 billion. Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments totaled $43.5 billion at the end of June. The upcoming results will add the company’s third-quarter profit and cash-flow figures to its delivery update.

At an Oct. 15 event in Texas, Tesla demonstrated a redesigned Roadster in a brief airborne maneuver. The company says cold-gas thrusters provide movement in flight, while a suction system holds the car upside down. Tesla says its flight-capable Rocket version is available by invitation and is not approved for public roads. Reuters reported that Tesla CEO Elon Musk said at the event that production is targeted for 2028. EconoTimes previously covered the Roadster demonstration and Tesla’s delivery figures.

Tesla plans to release its third-quarter results after the U.S. market closes Wednesday, Oct. 21, followed by a webcast at 5:30 p.m. ET.
