Thai asset managers are expanding access to semiconductor and technology stocks tied to artificial intelligence (AI), with six new retirement funds accepting initial subscriptions through Oct. 27.
Asset Plus Fund Management Company Limited lists its Atrackers Global Semiconductors Fund (A-GSEMI) as a feeder fund investing through the iShares MSCI Global Semiconductors UCITS ETF. Asset Plus assigns the fund risk level 7. Its manager decides whether to hedge foreign-exchange exposure.
Bangkok Post reported that Asset Plus managing director Khomsan Phalansunond described semiconductor production as an industry built across national specialties. He pointed to South Korea’s memory sector, Taiwan’s advanced manufacturing, U.S. chip design, and equipment suppliers in Japan and the Netherlands. Phalansunond said that geographic spread supports investing across the industry.
Demand tied to AI extends beyond processor makers. AI computing also uses high-bandwidth memory, while foundries, equipment makers and advanced packaging businesses contribute to chip production. The Asset Plus fund offers exposure to multiple parts of that industry through one product.
Krungsri Asset Management Company Limited has six retirement mutual funds open for initial subscriptions. Two use flexible strategies that invest across asset classes. The others cover global equities, U.S. stocks, Asian technology companies involved in AI supply chains and technology businesses worldwide.
Within that lineup, the U.S. stock fund targets shares with upward price momentum, while the global equity fund seeks income and potential capital growth. The two funds investing across asset classes can adjust their holdings as market conditions change. The Asian and global technology funds give investors different geographic choices within the sector.
Krungsri says the funds are intended for retirement planning and may offer tax benefits when investors meet the applicable conditions. Investors bear investment risk; for the Asset Plus fund, the manager’s hedging decision also affects currency exposure.
Krungsri’s initial subscription period ends Oct. 27.
