“The Resident” season 2 episode 8 is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions for Conrad (Matt Czuchry) as he develops a special connection with a patient. But, unfortunately, this is also going to cause another fight with Bell (Bruce Greenwood).
A patient named Zoey (Daniella Alonso) has just lost a son but she will soon be back at Chastain with another child in danger on “The Resident” season 2 episode 8. Conrad will be the one to look after Zoey’s needs. But it appears that Julian (Jenna Dewan) has established a rapport with Bell and will convince him to use “risky medical devices” in a procedure that Zoey needs.
As mentioned, Conrad will develop some levels of attachment to Zoey so it is not shocking if he sees in malice in Bell’s proposition to use devices that need more testing. Doctors on TV shows often develop a special bond with their patients and Conrad is no different. While Conrad likely means well for Zoey, Nic (Emily VanCamp) will fear in “The Resident” season 2 episode 8 that his emotional attachment might affect his ability to make sound decisions.
Another major highlight in “The Resident” season 2 episode 8 is the return of Dr. Lane Hunter (Melina Kanakaredes). Hunter is one of the most interesting guest roles from the first season. She was initially portrayed as a strong-willed and brilliant oncologist until it was revealed that her career and success was riddled with malpractices and an insurance fraud scheme at the expense of her patients.
The reason for her return in “The Resident” season 2 episode 8 is still under wraps. But it certainly does not involve a friendly catching up with the doctors at Chastain, especially Bell, who practically set her up for an FBI arrest in season 1.
“The Resident” season 2 episode 8 is titled “Heart in a Box” and it might be a reference to Mina (Shaunette Renée Wilson) and Austin’s (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) upcoming operation. The two will be working together on a “difficult heart transplant.” They will most likely finish the job eventually but will also bring them much closer.
More teasers for “The Resident” season 2 episode 8 are expected to be released in the coming weeks. “Heart in a Box” will be released on Monday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
