MELVILLE, N.Y., June 19, 2017 -- BZ Media LLC announced today the third annual Women-in-Drones Luncheon, a special networking event at InterDrone™ The International Drone Conference & Exposition being held September 6-8 at the Rio in Las Vegas. Maria Stefanopoulos, an Emmy Award Winning Production Manager for ABC News, Good Morning America, and a licensed drone pilot will moderate the panel and luncheon sponsored by Intel.
“I’m thrilled to be back at InterDrone for the second year in a row and I’m even more excited to moderate a panel with female pioneers who have sprinted headfirst into the drone frontier. Together, we are shaping the future of this industry and proving that the sky is no longer the limit,” said Stefanopoulos.
Panelists for the 2017 event include:
Natalie Cheung, UAV Product Manager in the Perceptual Computing Group at Intel Corporation
Karen DiMeo, Senior Technical UAS Advisor, Office of the Deputy Administrator (ADA) at the Federal Aviation Administration
Suzanne EL-Moursi, President of Uplift Data Partners
Melanie Harris, Chief Engagement Officer at AeroVista Innovations
Carmaine Means, Emmy award winning television news photojournalist at CBS News in Chicago
InterDrone pioneered the Women in Drones Luncheon in September 2015, spawning a host of similar gatherings at other events. The first Women in Drones Luncheon drew 64 women and the second event nearly tripled in size to 180. InterDrone has partnered with more than a dozen leading women-in-tech groups to build momentum and add thought leadership for this special function including Women In Technology International, Diversity Communications, EOP Publications (e.g. Woman Engineer Magazine), IEEE Women In Engineering, Women In Wireless, Women Who Code, sheDrones, and Women & Drones.
“InterDrone has become one of the premier drone events in the U.S. What distinguishes this event even further is its commitment to highlight the accomplishments of women in the drone industry, encouraging more participation by women, and creating an event, the Women-in-Drones Luncheon, where a group of dynamic women came together to share their ideas and experiences and encourage each other on," said Jennifer Richter, Partner, Akin Gump Strauss Haver & Feld, and panelist from 2016.
InterDrone is the largest event dedicated to commercial drones in North America with over 3,500 attendees in 2016. This year, InterDrone expects to host more than 4,000 commercial drone buyers and flyers who will learn from more than 120 sessions and more than 180 exhibitors on the show floor.
