Traders with positions exposed to rising prices absorbed most of the forced closures across Binance, Bybit and OKX in a one-hour period ending Oct. 16, as public exchange data put the total at $43.37 million.

Data collected from the three exchanges recorded 6,810 position closures during the 60 minutes ending at 1:20 p.m. ET (17:20 UTC). Long positions, which are intended to benefit from price increases, made up $41.24 million, or about 95% of the amount. Short positions, which benefit from declines, accounted for $2.13 million.

Binance had the highest venue total at $25.96 million. OKX recorded $13.42 million, while Bybit's figure was $3.99 million. The asset breakdown showed $2.99 million for Solana (SOL), $7.76 million for Bitcoin (BTC) and $14.19 million for Ether (ETH). The venue and asset amounts are separate breakdowns of the same tally.

The count covers those three exchanges; liquidation activity on other venues is not included.
