Tinder’s daily active users ended a three-and-a-half-year annual slide in September, when the count moved above its year-earlier level, Match Group said, as it pursues revenue growth from stronger engagement.

The announcement covered the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026. Match Group also said Hinge, its other dating app, recorded double-digit year-over-year gains in users, revenue and payers. The report put growth in audience and commercial measures side by side.

In Q2, Tinder’s daily active users and other operating measures still showed year-over-year declines: daily users were down 4%, their smallest drop in 10 quarters, while paying users fell 5%. Direct revenue slipped 1% to $457.5 million, although average monthly revenue per payer climbed 4% to $17.90. Hinge revenue rose 22%. In August, Match Group forecast Q3 revenue of $885 million to $895 million, down 2% to 3% from a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA of $330 million to $335 million.

Match Group attributed Tinder’s improving user trend broadly to product work. CEO Spencer Rascoff said the latest quarter ranked highest in Match Group’s year-over-year tracking for Tinder’s Sparks and Sparks Coverage features. He also cited early results from Events and Group Hangouts; Match Group said the “Better with Friends” roadmap would receive greater emphasis.

“While there’s still work ahead, Q3 provided more proof points that this strategy is working,” Rascoff said.

Match Group said its 2027 focus would be converting Tinder’s improving engagement into sustainable revenue growth, while continuing to generate free cash flow and return capital to shareholders. “We delivered against our financial expectations this quarter,” Chief Financial Officer Steve Bailey said, adding that Tinder’s underlying trends continued to improve. Bailey also said diluted shares outstanding were down 4% year over year and 10% from the start of 2025.

The board declared a cash dividend of $0.20 per common share. Payment is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2027, to shareholders of record Jan. 6.
