BusinessDay reported Wednesday, Oct. 28, that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) pledged a grassroots campaign in Akwa Ibom State to help President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress candidates win in 2027.

The outlet described RHA as a network of several support groups. The coalition also said it would back Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom Gov. Umo Eno and other APC candidates, according to the report.

State coordinator Prince Ikim made the pledge at a Tuesday breakfast meeting attended by organizers from local governments and wards. He said the gathering was intended to bring the network together and coordinate its election work, BusinessDay reported.

Ikim praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies. He said Nigeria’s economy would have collapsed without subsidy removal and naira stabilization, describing the measures as evidence of political resolve. In a separate point, he said state and local governments had more money for projects aimed at residents. He also credited Tinubu with projects in Akwa Ibom and said the president had delivered on his 2023 campaign promises.

Ikim urged supporters to promote the Renewed Hope and ARISE agendas in their communities and seek broad backing for the candidates. He thanked Eno for nominating members of the network to their roles, including Ikim as state coordinator, the report said.

Former Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Speaker Aniekame Uko said RHA would organize votes for Tinubu, Akpabio, Eno and the party’s other candidates. BusinessDay reported that former state lawmaker Charles Mbong, speaking for Eket Senatorial District, urged the group to encourage voters to obtain their PVCs, which he said were needed to win the election.

The local effort follows earlier coverage of Tinubu’s 2027 campaign push.
