Tom Lee has released a short-term warning about Ethereum, connecting possible negative consequences to the KOSPI index's abrupt 6% equity-market decline in South Korea. Instead of indicating a change in his long-term bullish case—which calls for a year-end goal above $5,000—Lee cautions that broker margin calls and forced liquidations from considerable Korean crypto exposure might provide instant negative pressure.
Several demand-side headwinds aggravate this short-term weakness; these include over $542 million in recent Ethereum ETF withdrawals, transfers of about 4,393 ETH from Foundation-related wallets to Kraken, and the imminent accumulation ceiling of BitMine, which has said it would stop purchasing once it reaches its 5% supply threshold. Ethereum is trading around $2,528 and has immediate resistance at $2,575 and a vital near-term support level at $2,394.
For those in the market, $2,394 is the first line in the sand. Staying above this important level would indicate that Lee's warning mirrors a transient liquidity-driven drop instead of a wider trend reversal; a breakdown would hasten a correction toward the $2,141 downside target.
