The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects three seasonal promotions to produce 630 million baht in domestic tourism revenue and more than 200,000 trips, the Bangkok Post reported Oct. 30.
For this year, TAT forecasts 206 million domestic trips with a combined value of 1.1 trillion baht. Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, the agency's deputy governor for domestic marketing, told the Bangkok Post it had spent more than 100 million baht on the three programs. The efforts cover discounted domestic flights, package-tour support and events for people traveling alone.
The airline offer reduces a one-way domestic ticket by 500 baht on one of seven Thai airlines, with 99,000 discounted bookings available. Travelers can reserve until mid-December for travel through mid-January. Pattaraanong told the Bangkok Post the discount is meant to ease high fares as jet fuel costs rise during the Middle East war.
The package scheme involves nine travel associations and requires itineraries lasting at least two days and one night across more than one province. Coach trips with 30 or more passengers qualify for 10,000 baht a day, up to 40,000 baht per trip; vans need at least six passengers to qualify for 2,500 baht daily, capped at 10,000 baht per trip, the Bangkok Post reported. More than 500 tour companies had applied to sell packages, and TAT expects about 50,000 travelers to take part, Pattaraanong told the newspaper.
The third effort, Single Journey 2026, features eight activities for solo travelers. Options include an outdoor silent-film screening in Chon Buri, eco-trails in Chiang Mai and a trip on the SRT Royal Blossom train.
For all three campaigns, the TAT forecasts 630 million baht in revenue and more than 200,000 domestic trips, the Bangkok Post reported. Discounted-ticket bookings are open until mid-December, with eligible travel through mid-January.
