A fuel connection that may separate has led Toyota to recall 105,794 U.S. Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles because leaking fuel could cause a fire if it reaches an ignition source.
Toyota’s filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) covers vehicles from the 2024 through 2027 model years. The figure counts vehicles potentially affected, rather than confirmed faulty connections. Toyota said it cannot estimate how many vehicles have the problem.
The connection near the fuel tank joins a resin fuel tube to a metal line supplying the engine. A retaining clip holds the tubes together. Toyota said the tubes could pull apart if the clip lifts, allowing fuel to escape until the hybrid system shuts off the engine. The company has not established what might cause the clip to lift.
Dealers will inspect the connection and install an additional clamp. They will also replace the resin tube where needed. Toyota said owners will not be charged for the work.
Toyota plans to send owner notices from Nov. 29 through Dec. 13, 2026. Owners can check whether their vehicle is included by entering its vehicle identification number or license plate in Toyota’s or NHTSA’s recall lookup.
