Trend Micro has proposed up to ¥10 billion in Japan cybersecurity credits, pairing access to its Vision One platform with technical support for critical infrastructure and supply-chain businesses.

The proposed pool consists of TrendAI Flex licensing credits for capabilities in TrendAI Vision One. The credits are not cash grants, and Trend Micro says the program will roll out in phases. Participation criteria, individual credit amounts and redemption terms have not been released.

The first phase is aimed at critical infrastructure operators and large companies, with smaller suppliers connected to them also in scope. Organizations that qualify may receive up to 10 days of professional services from partners at no charge. Trend Micro also plans to make forward-deployed engineers and managed detection and response expertise available. Its initiative page lists 100 forward-deployed engineers but gives no deployment timetable.

Trend Micro cited 607 publicly disclosed cybersecurity incidents in Japan during January through September 2026, more than the 594 it reported for all of 2025. The company said the figures reflect tallies as of Oct. 9 and may be revised. An Oct. 13 Japanese-language advisory had put the nine-month 2026 count at 600 and the 2025 total at 593. Trend Micro has not explained the difference between the releases.

The company’s Oct. 12 advisory said it had not established that attackers’ use of AI was connected to recent incidents in Japan. It said AI can help attackers research targets, analyze vulnerabilities and make phishing more convincing.

Separate offers cover smaller businesses and consumers. New small and midsize business customers in Japan can start a 60-day Worry-Free Business Security Services trial by Dec. 31, 2026. Consumers in Japan can receive 90 days of Trend Micro ScamCheck if they begin using it by the same date.
