Triple-A said Oct. 29 that eligible international buyers could use Tether (USDT) or USD Coin (USDC) for vehicles exported by SAT Japan, with payments converted into dollars for the seller.

Triple-A will oversee processing, token conversion and compliance, then settle with SAT Japan in U.S. dollars. The arrangement lets the exporter receive dollars without holding or managing the tokens.

Triple-A founder and CEO Eric Barbier said, “payment speed, costs, and certainty matter.” Triple-A cited faster confirmation as a possible advantage, but gave no figures on speed, fees, payment volume or customer adoption.

No start date for USDT or USDC support was disclosed. SAT Japan’s payment information lists a Triple-A cryptocurrency option but gives no token list or availability date.
