President Donald Trump asked SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to remove restrictions on a military-grade Starlink service in Ukraine, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing U.S. officials.

U.S. and Ukrainian officials told the Journal that performance improved after the conversation. Some Ukrainian officials said the service still had not returned to full functionality, and the report did not say the restrictions were fully removed.

The Journal’s earlier reporting said the restrictions disrupted Ukrainian drone operations. The cap concerned how quickly connected terminals could move, rather than their internet data speed, as explained in EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the movement limit.
