President Donald Trump campaigned for Sen. Roger Marshall in Park City, Kansas, on Oct. 19, pairing his appearance with planned farm fuel aid as the state approaches its Nov. 3 Senate election.
Trump announced a planned $8 billion fuel assistance program for farmers. He said the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) would launch it to help with diesel costs; EconoTimes previously covered the farm-aid plan announced at the rally. The Associated Press has reported that farm costs have become a concern for Republican voter enthusiasm.
Earlier EconoTimes coverage described narrow, conflicting poll leads in the race.
CBS News said Vice President JD Vance took part in a town hall as Republicans sought momentum ahead of November's elections. The network described the appearance as part of the party's broader push before the midterms.
The debate between Marshall and Hamilton is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET Oct. 21. Nexstar Media Group, Inc. said its Kansas stations will carry the event. Kansas voters are scheduled to choose their senator Nov. 3.
