President Donald J. Trump designated Nov. 1-7, 2026, as Anti-Communism Week in a proclamation dated on the scheduled U.S. midterm election day, though it does not mention the vote.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) lists Nov. 3, 2026, as the scheduled federal general election date, while USAGov identifies that year’s congressional contests as midterms. The proclamation sets a seven-day observance beginning Nov. 1.
The White House posted the document under Presidential Actions. It urges Americans to uphold the country’s constitutional order and market-based economy. The text portrays the United States as experiencing a wider presence of socialist, communist and “radical leftist” ideas, but cites no examples, groups or evidence for that assessment.
Trump described the observance as a tribute to victims of socialism and communism. He wrote that the United States “will never become a communist country.”
A 2025 White House proclamation designated a different week, Nov. 2-8, 2025. This year’s observance is scheduled to end Nov. 7, 2026.
