Chainalysis estimated that transfers above $10 million accounted for 53,200 Bitcoin (BTC) in U.S.-assigned inflows in the year through June 30, 2026, while overall inflows exceeded outflows for the first time since 2022.

That amount reflects only transactions above the $10 million threshold, not the country’s full net balance. In the under-$10,000 bracket, outflows exceeded inflows in each period measured.

Chainalysis reported a larger U.S. share of its combined Bitcoin activity measure in every period after spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds launched in January 2024. The measure combines Bitcoin’s portions of crypto-service inflows and exchange trading with net cross-border receipts.

Chainalysis’ net-import classification tracks estimated cross-border activity assigned to a country, not coins physically moving across a border. It infers wallet locations from behavioral signals. For crypto services, its allocation method adjusts website traffic by the square root of GDP per capita. The report says virtual private networks and bots can make those traffic estimates less reliable.
