United Arab Emirates Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed met Turkey’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, with the talks focused on regional security, prosperity and bilateral cooperation, The National reported.

The two sides reviewed their bilateral ties and considered options for deepening partnerships across a range of fields, the newspaper said. Also present were Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi’s deputy ruler and national security adviser, and Ali Al Shamsi, who serves as secretary general of the UAE's Supreme Council for National Security.

Mansour also holds the UAE’s deputy prime minister post and chairs the Presidential Court. Kalin directs Turkey’s National Intelligence Organisation.

The National said the countries’ strategic relationship and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) provided the setting for the meeting. It described the talks as building on Mansour’s working visit to Turkey in May, when he met President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Vice President said the earlier talks covered expanding cooperation to support regional security and prosperity.
