The United Arab Emirates and France exchanged a Strategic Defence Partnership Framework in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 20, alongside a second defence industry accord, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the exchanges. Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, the UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Catherine Vautrin, France’s minister of the armed forces and veterans affairs, exchanged the framework.

The second agreement covered implementing arrangements regarding the defence industry. France’s Delegate-General for Armaments Patrick Pailloux exchanged it with Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, the secretary general of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement.
