United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan urged de-escalation in a call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with regional developments on the agenda.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Araghchi phoned Sheikh Abdullah. In its account, Sheikh Abdullah called for lower tensions and continued diplomacy. The ministry said the officials also reviewed conditions in the region and recent events, but did not identify any proposal or agreement.

The ministry's English-language page is dated Nov. 6. Emirates News Agency (WAM) published a notice on Nov. 5 at 2:52 p.m. ET (19:52 UTC), but that is the notice's publication time; neither account specified when the call took place.
