Britain's 2026 Budget adds £10 billion to Ukraine's financial support, Prime Minister Andy Burnham told President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Wednesday, as Downing Street linked the war's stakes to UK and European security.

The plan includes an extra £500 million from the Ministry of Defence for military assistance this winter, aimed at Ukraine's urgent air-defense needs. Another £7 billion in economic support will be available over three years. UK Export Finance (UKEF) capacity for Ukraine will also grow by £3 billion, with that capacity prioritized for military support.

Downing Street presented the package as helping Ukraine sustain its defense against Russia's invasion. Burnham said no previous British financial commitment to Ukraine had matched the package's scale.

Chancellor John Healey said the UK would continue stepping up sanctions to increase pressure on Putin and push him toward negotiations. Burnham and Zelenskyy agreed to seek more partner support for Ukraine at an upcoming European Political Community meeting.
