ATLANTA, Dec. 08, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Just in time for the busy holiday shipping season, UPS (NYSE: UPS) has hit a milestone of 20 million UPS My Choice® members around the world. Online shoppers can use the service to conveniently manage their residential deliveries.
UPS My Choice members receive an email or text message the day before a shipment arrives. If they won’t be home, they can re-route most packages to their workplace, a neighbor’s home or a nearby UPS Access Point™ location. Members can also provide instructions for their UPS driver on where to leave their packages such as the back porch or side of the garage. Most delivery alerts include an estimated delivery window, and for a small fee, UPS can also provide a 2-hour confirmed delivery window*. A small fee also applies to certain delivery changes.
Online shoppers traveling for the holidays can activate a vacation setting to have packages held and delivered when they return home. An online calendar helps members manage their deliveries from one location.
“UPS My Choice gives consumers the gift of convenience and control,” said Stu Marcus, UPS vice president of customer technology. “With the continued growth of global e-commerce comes more packages. UPS is focused on delivering where consumers are, not where they aren’t, and improving the online shopping experience.”
The UPS My Choice service is a key feature of the UPS Mobile™ App, which is available in 16 countries. The app is helping transform consumers’ expectations for package delivery and has been downloaded more than 7 million times on iOS and Android devices.
According to analytics source App Annie, the UPS Mobile App for iPhone is on the Top 10 list of free business apps in the U.S.
*U.S. only
