Analyst revisions have lowered earnings expectations at United Parcel Service (UPS) and FedEx ahead of quarterly reports due this week, putting both carriers’ profit outlook in focus.

UPS estimates now pair a higher revenue outlook with lower per-share earnings forecasts. For FedEx, projections point to a small revenue increase alongside lower expected earnings.

UPS's third-quarter report is due before markets open. UPS coverage will focus on demand, expenses and milestones in its automation work.

FedEx’s update will put international margin trends, Network 2.0 and management’s projections in focus.
