US companies beat earnings estimates in four of the six results reported so far during the week of Oct. 26, according to Finnhub's earnings calendar, with 22 companies still to report.
The calendar classified two results as below estimates, although some displayed figures matched expectations. Verizon Communications and Coca-Cola each reported earnings equal to their displayed estimates, but received different classifications.
Centene reported earnings of $0.58 a share against an estimate of $0.10, with revenue of $50.65 billion, Finnhub said. PayPal Holdings earned $1.45 a share against an estimate of $1.34, with revenue of $8.58 billion.
United Parcel Service reported earnings of $1.69 a share against an estimate of $1.64, with revenue of $22.85 billion. Coca-Cola earned $0.91 a share against an estimate of $0.91, with revenue of $13.35 billion.
Boeing reported a loss of $0.34 a share against an estimated loss of $0.21, with revenue of $24.19 billion. Verizon Communications earned $1.31 a share against an estimate of $1.31, with revenue of $34.31 billion.
Earnings per share measures a company's profit divided by its shares outstanding. The estimates represent the average of analyst forecasts collected before each result.
Visa and Robinhood Markets are scheduled to report on Oct. 27 after the market closes. Neither company has reported yet in the calendar's tally.
Alphabet and Microsoft are scheduled to report after the market closes on Oct. 28. Ford Motor, T-Mobile US and FedEx are also due after the close that day.
ServiceNow and Chipotle Mexican Grill complete the Oct. 28 after-market schedule. Phillips 66 is scheduled to report before the market opens that day.
Amazon.com is scheduled to report after the market closes on Oct. 29. Intel, Starbucks, Coinbase Global and Strategy are also due after the close that day.
Eli Lilly and Caterpillar are scheduled to report before the market opens on Oct. 29. Merck & Co and Mastercard are due before the open that day as well.
Exxonmobil Holdings, Chevron and AbbVie are scheduled to report before the market opens on Oct. 30. Those results will complete the remaining company schedule supplied for the week.
All 22 scheduled companies remain outside the six-company results tally. Their entries contain estimates for earnings and revenue, rather than reported results, so they do not yet contribute to the count of companies beating expectations.
