The Swiss National Bank’s Oct. 27 reference data put the franc at 0.8285 per U.S. dollar, while FXStreet’s separate report showed the pair extending a three-session rise toward the 0.8300 level featured in its technical analysis.
FXStreet reported USD/CHF at 0.8282 on Tuesday, up 0.09%, after the pair rebounded from a monthly low of 0.8191 on Oct. 23. The pair quotes the number of Swiss francs one U.S. dollar buys, so a higher figure reflects a stronger dollar against the franc. The outlet did not state when it captured the price.
The European Central Bank’s Oct. 27 reference rates — $1.1150 per euro and 0.9239 Swiss francs per euro — imply a cross rate of about 0.8286 francs per dollar. The SNB said its daily rates are computed from Bloomberg BFIX and are for information purposes. The ECB also describes its rates as reference values rather than transaction prices. These daily figures are not timestamp-matched checks of FXStreet’s quote.
For a pullback, FXStreet analyst Christian Borjon Valencia marked 0.8232, Monday’s low, as an initial support level. His analysis placed the 50-day average at 0.8202, with 0.8200 and the 100-day average at 0.8143 among lower references.
Valencia said Monday’s move above the Oct. 23 high of 0.8256 confirmed a bullish engulfing pattern formed the previous week. He also characterized the Relative Strength Index as bullish.
His chart marked 0.8300 as the first resistance reference. It identified 0.8354, the Oct. 15 high, and 0.8395, the Oct. 14 swing high, as further overhead levels, with 0.8400 beyond them in the conditional scenario. FXStreet also cited 0.8476, the high on May 12, 2025. The analysis gave no time horizon for that scenario.
The Federal Reserve calendar lists a two-day Federal Open Market Committee meeting for Oct. 27-28.
