FXStreet put USD/CHF near 0.8280 in Asian trading on Oct. 29; the Federal Reserve had voted 10-2 the previous day to keep its interest-rate range unchanged.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) maintained its federal funds target range at 3.75%-4.00%, unchanged after a quarter-point increase in September. The dissenters were Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook and Beth M. Hammack, president of the Cleveland Fed; both favored a further 0.25-percentage-point increase.

Exchange Rates UK lists the pair's Oct. 28 close at 0.8280, with a daily high of 0.8313 and low of 0.8275. USD/CHF measures how many Swiss francs one U.S. dollar buys.

The committee cited resilient domestic spending alongside gains in productivity and capital investment, while saying inflation was still high. It said additional information would help guide policy decisions, without setting a date for another rate move.

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said new information would help officials determine the appropriate policy stance. The Fed's next scheduled policy meeting is Dec. 8-9.
