Washington, D.C., May 19, 2017 -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to congratulate Geoff Morrell on his new role as group head of communications and external affairs for BP. Geoff will assume his new responsibilities on August 1st and relocate to London, reporting directly to Bob Dudley, Group Chief Executive.

Morrell is currently senior vice president, U.S. communications and external affairs, having joined BP in 2011 as head of communications for BP America. Since then, Geoff has played a key role in leading BP’s communications and government relations in the U.S. He is a strong public advocate and ambassador for BP who has worked diligently to build strategic relationships for the company in Washington and across the country.

Prior to joining BP, Morrell spent four years as the Pentagon press secretary in the U.S. Department of Defense, serving as chief spokesperson for defense secretary Robert M. Gates and the US military under Presidents Bush and Obama. Before that, he spent 15 years as a television correspondent, including four years covering the White House for ABC News. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and received his Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University.
