Ukraine’s General Staff said its forces targeted a synthetic-rubber plant in Togliatti during a drone operation spanning Oct. 23-24, while the city reported industrial damage without identifying affected sites.
The military named the plant as Tolyattikauchuk and said an explosion and fire were recorded in its vicinity. Its statement gave no exact time for the reported strike.
Togliatti head Ilya Sukhikh said the city had faced a mass drone attack and that industrial facilities were damaged. He said preliminary information showed no deaths or injuries, but did not identify the affected sites.
The plant’s operator lists synthetic rubber as its main product and says it is used in tires and other rubber goods. Ukraine’s General Staff said the material is also used in solid rocket propellant and described the plant as part of the raw-material supply chain for Russia’s missile program.
Sukhikh’s statement did not confirm damage to Tolyattikauchuk specifically. The Ukrainian military’s account identified the plant as a target, but the statements provided no plant-specific damage assessment.
