Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (HUR) published an inventory of 81 components in Russia’s Filin cruise missile, including 35 U.S.-made and 22 Chinese parts, detailing foreign inputs in a weapon HUR says Russia has begun using.

HUR posted the inventory and technical specifications on its War&Sanctions portal on Oct. 22. The U.S. and Chinese component counts total 57. The agency says Chinese components make up a larger share of the Filin’s electronics than they do in comparable Russian weapons.

The published profile gives the missile a length of 3.5 meters, a wingspan of 3 meters and a maximum takeoff weight of 210 kilograms. HUR lists a maximum speed of 800 kilometers per hour, a range of 600 to 1,200 kilometers and an altitude of up to 6 kilometers. Its listed warhead options weigh 50 or 100 kilograms and include fragmentation-high-explosive, penetrating and thermobaric types.

The portal names NPO MOLNIYA JSC as the manufacturer and lists a Kometa navigation module. HUR identifies the engine as the Russian-made R500, produced by Reynolds LLC, and says some parts are made using 3-D printing. The missile launches from a ground-based launcher with a powder booster, according to the agency’s published specifications.

HUR says Russian forces began using the Filin in late summer 2026, but the timing is unverified. The agency frames the weapon as part of Russia’s pursuit of less expensive attack systems with jet engines and ground launch. The Kyiv Post reported that the missile’s stated speed and range had not been independently verified.
