A drone strike that Ukrainian officials blamed on Russian forces killed three people in Synelnykove, in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on Saturday, Oct. 24, while conflicting casualty updates left the wounded toll unresolved.

The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration initially reported at least eight wounded, then raised its count to 12. The regional prosecutor’s office later reported 13. The reported updates did not explain why the totals differed.

An 11-year-old girl was among the injured, the administration said. Five people were hospitalized; two women and a man were in serious condition and undergoing surgery, according to a later administration update.

Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, said the strike damaged a store and vehicles and set the apartment building’s fourth floor ablaze.

Suspilne reported that Synelnykove Mayor Dmytro Zrazhevskyi described the site as a crowded residential area and said three five-story buildings were damaged. The outlet said crews had extinguished the fire and were assessing the damage.
