Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized a U.S.-Russia diesel arrangement as a win for Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure continued despite an energy ceasefire.

In an interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored, Zelensky described the truce as a possible move toward peace but said Russia was not observing it. The Independent reported his comments Thursday.

Zelensky said recent developments left him feeling betrayed and warned President Donald Trump, “This is not the right side of history.” He described the diesel deal as a “simple victory” for Putin.

He said Ukraine had to withstand the war and continued to regard the United States as a strategic partner. Zelensky also expressed regret at the prospect of losing a strong ally.
