UltraTech Cement Limited shares rose 1.87% in India on Oct. 21 but remained 10.29% below their July 21 close, even as the company reported stronger quarterly sales and profit.

The stock closed at ₹10,849 on the National Stock Exchange of India, ₹199 above its Oct. 19 close of ₹10,650. It had closed at ₹12,094 on July 21. The 10.29% decline compares share prices on those two dates and excludes dividends.

UltraTech said consolidated net sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 increased 18.9% from a year earlier to ₹23,024 crore. Profit after tax grew 21.3% to ₹1,501 crore, while domestic grey cement sales volume rose 13.8% to 35.94 million tonnes. Those gains came during a period in which the company's share price fell from its July level.

The company cited monsoon conditions and the West Asia crisis as headwinds during the quarter. It did not identify a cause for the three-month share-price decline. UltraTech said its domestic grey cement capacity stood at 204.7 million tonnes a year as of Sept. 30.

At an Oct. 19 earnings call, Chief Financial Officer Atul Daga said UltraTech's spot realizations — what it receives for cement — were about 5% above the July-September quarter's average, according to a recording disclosed by the company. Daga also discussed the company's expectation of further price increases in India.

UltraTech's board recommended a special dividend of ₹240 per share for fiscal 2025-26, describing it as a departure from its usual practice. The exchange lists July 30 as the ex-dividend date. The July-to-October share-price change alone therefore does not measure an investor's total return over that period.

UltraTech's financial calendar places its report for the quarter ending Dec. 31 at the end of January 2027. That report is the next scheduled update on the company's financial performance.
