Union Pacific Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Hamann plans to retire in early 2027 after more than three decades with the railroad, marking a coming leadership transition at the company.
The railroad said it would provide succession plans in a future announcement but did not set a date for that update. Union Pacific announced Hamann’s planned retirement Friday.
Hamann joined the railroad in 1992. Before becoming CFO in January 2020, she held roles in Corporate Audit, investor relations, marketing and sales, human resources and finance, the company said. She was the first woman to hold Union Pacific’s CFO post.
Chief Executive Officer Jim Vena said Hamann helped guide the railroad through difficult periods and develop future leaders. Hamann described serving as CFO as an honor and thanked the people who supported her.
