Reservations for Apple’s iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, exhausted the India stock set aside for opening week, Press Trust of India reported, citing unnamed inventory sources.
The sources highlighted Apple’s BKC location in Mumbai and its Saket branch in New Delhi, saying their reservation levels were similar. PTI gave no figures for either store or for the overall number of devices booked, and reported that Apple had not immediately answered its emailed query.
A Jan. 23, 2027, estimated delivery date for new orders appeared less than an hour after preorders opened, The Economic Times Online reported. That account described delivery timing but did not establish the size of Apple’s initial India allocation.
Apple said India preorders opened Oct. 16 at 8 a.m. ET (12:00 UTC). Its India store lists the 256GB model at ₹299,900 and the 2TB version at ₹449,900.
For customers seeking store pickup, 9to5Mac reported that India was among the launch markets where orders had to be placed online, rather than bought through a walk-in. Apple had said some markets would have limited walk-in stock, the outlet reported. EconoTimes previously covered Apple’s launch-day walk-in limits. Apple set Oct. 23 as the start date for availability in India.
