Urban Company is studying residential air conditioners for its Native brand as Native posted 40% revenue growth, giving the home-services company a possible extension of its product range.
On Oct. 16, the board gave preliminary support to examining the category. Urban Company said it services millions of air conditioners annually, providing insight into customer needs and product gaps. The company has yet to approve a market launch or associated capital spending; both remain subject to further review and a board decision.
Native reported ₹105 crore in net revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026. Net transaction value (NTV) rose 35% to ₹132 crore. The business recorded an adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹9 crore, while its loss margin narrowed to 6.8% of NTV from 9% a year earlier, an improvement of 220 basis points.
Urban Company said it looks for product categories that solve consumer problems and need ongoing service, with room for premium products and profitable sales. It also wants customers to be able to use its app to buy products and arrange installation, service and repairs.
CEO and co-founder Abhiraj Singh Bhal said on the Oct. 16 earnings call that the early phase would help the company learn about the category. He said Urban Company would “limit it largely to our app.” Bhal estimated the company handles nearly 10 times as many air conditioner servicing, repair and installation orders as water purifier orders, and that the category’s total addressable market is about 10 times the size of the water purifier market. Those are management estimates.
NDTV Profit reported Nov. 2 that co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Vikas Khaitan said an initial offering would target premium consumers in cities where Urban Company has a strong presence. The outlet reported that the rollout would initially be limited to India.
Native launched with water purifiers in 2023 and also sells smart locks. Urban Company said the year’s festive period and major e-commerce sale events moved to Q3, making combined Q2 and Q3 performance a more useful measure. It expects NTV growth of 50% to 55% across the two quarters, year over year.
