Utexo says it has opened testing on Bitcoin (BTC) Signet for a bridged version of Tether USDt (USDT), with public release scheduled for Nov. 28 and a Lightning Network phase planned for Q1 2027.

The Signet sandbox lets operators test Utexo’s RGB transaction flows before launch. Utexo is onboarding firms preparing products for the planned release.

Utexo says the project is intended to bring dollar liquidity to Bitcoin and support trading and BTC-backed lending. It identified swap providers and lending platforms as intended users, and said early operators may capture initial demand and market share.

Utexo describes its planned product as bridged. Tether’s Aug. 28, 2025, announcement described a separate plan to issue USDt natively on Bitcoin through RGB. The companies’ descriptions point to different token models, though both involve RGB. Utexo also says the stablecoin first appeared on Bitcoin in 2014.

EconoTimes previously reported that UniSat would join the project as a launch partner, with wallet transfers and swaps planned.

After the Nov. 28 release, Utexo plans to begin a second phase in Q1 2027 to bring the token to the Lightning Network.
