Vedanta Oil and Gas Limited shares reached an intraday high of ₹31.90 Monday after second-quarter EBITDA rose 34%, even as production declined 19% and oil-price realizations climbed year over year.

Upstox market data showed Friday’s close at ₹30.23 and Monday’s intraday high at ₹31.90. The Economic Times reported gains of 8.5% Friday and about 6% Monday, a roughly 14% rise over the two sessions, and a market-cap increase of nearly ₹1,580 crore to more than ₹12,474 crore. The ₹31.90 high and market-cap figures were intraday; ₹30.23 was Friday’s close.

Vedanta’s Oct. 29 results release reported ₹746 crore in profit after tax from continuing operations for the quarter ended Sept. 30. The company put revenue at ₹2,486 crore, up 7%, and EBITDA at ₹1,393 crore, up 34% year over year. It linked the EBITDA increase to improved price realizations and ongoing work to optimize costs.

Average daily gross operated production fell 19% year over year to 72.2 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day from 89.1 thousand. Average oil-price realization rose 41% to $93 a barrel from $66.10. Together, the figures suggest higher realized prices helped support earnings during lower output. Interim CEO and whole-time director Jim Johnny Gast said production optimization measures were helping slow declines across mature assets.

Profit was below the ₹945 crore reported for the first quarter, but the earlier period included ₹1,097 crore from discontinued operations, including a ₹1,056 crore exceptional gain. That makes the headline profit figures not directly comparable.

Oil and gas operations transferred from Vedanta Limited under a demerger effective May 1, 2026, according to the exchange filing. The company allotted 3,910,388,057 shares to eligible Vedanta shareholders on May 4. The filing said Q2 consolidated results were unaudited and statutory auditors issued an unmodified limited-review conclusion.

The company also reported three discoveries in Rajasthan, whose hydrocarbon potential and commercial viability it said remained under evaluation.
