Jorge Rodríguez said Venezuela’s National Assembly would swear in a committee for Supreme Court nominations on Oct. 22, Venezuela Tribune reported in its coverage of the third round of transition talks.

Government and opposition representatives continue negotiations on a political transition. Vente Venezuela says setting a presidential election timetable is its main demand. The party also called for demonstrations in all 23 states on Oct. 22 in its protest call.

Vente Venezuela has sought a presidential vote in 2027 but has not named a specific day in its account of the mobilization. Rodríguez’s announcement set Oct. 22 as the target date for the National Assembly to swear in the committee.
