Victoria Emergency Services Minister Paul Edbrooke said he found a bullet on a car his children use, while ABC News reported police are investigating a reported threat against a Victorian parliamentarian in greater Frankston.

Edbrooke said the bullet bore “RAT” and a number from his years as a firefighter. He said the discovery raised concerns for his family because his children use the car. In an ABC Radio Melbourne interview reported by The Guardian, he asked, “Am I being followed?”

The Parliament of Victoria lists Edbrooke as the Labor member for Frankston and says he worked as a firefighter before entering Parliament. ABC News, citing a police spokesperson, reported that Victoria Police’s Security Investigation Unit is investigating the reported threat.

Federal MP Helen Haines was struck by a vehicle outside an office in Wangaratta on Oct. 19. Victoria Police said a man was charged Oct. 20 and that police would allege the incident was targeted. The Guardian’s account of Edbrooke’s case did not report a connection to the Haines incident.
