Walmart began offering U.S. shoppers a $120 annual membership that joins Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus on Oct. 20, a $98 discount from buying the two plans separately at listed prices before tax.

Walmart+ alone is listed at $98 per year, while Sam’s Club Plus costs $120. The bundled fee is subject to applicable tax and comes without a monthly option or trial. Customers keep an account with each retailer and must connect the accounts to activate the paired benefits.

The plan includes Sam’s Club access and eligible delivery from both chains. Free eligible scheduled Walmart delivery starts with a $35 order; free standard Sam’s Club delivery starts at $50 before tax. Shoppers may still place smaller delivery orders, though fees may apply.

Members can choose ad-supported Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential. Walmart also advertises fuel savings of 10 cents per gallon at participating stations, with a range of 5 to 10 cents in Alabama. The plan offers 2% Sam’s Cash on qualifying pre-tax in-club, Scan & Go and curbside purchases, capped at $750 per membership year.

Eligible Walmart+ members paying the standard annual rate can move to the bundle for $22 more per year, Walmart said. Promotional or partner plans may carry different terms. Sam’s Club Club-tier members can upgrade to Plus for $60 more annually and receive Walmart+; existing Plus members can activate Walmart+ at no additional charge. Walmart said most members who already pay for both programs qualify for a prorated Walmart+ refund after linking their accounts.

The offer follows growth in Walmart’s membership business. Global membership-fee revenue rose 17% in its fiscal second quarter ended July 31 from a year earlier, while Sam’s Club U.S. membership-fee revenue increased 6%. Walmart attributed the Sam’s Club gain to more members and greater Plus membership penetration.

Walmart said U.S. field associates at both chains will receive both memberships as an employee benefit. It did not estimate the program’s costs but said they were not expected to materially affect the fiscal third-quarter or full-year guidance it issued Aug. 20.
