BURLINGAME, Calif., April 19, 2017 -- WeDriveU, Inc., the leader in corporate transportation solutions, today announced support for the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) “25 by 20 Transit Benefits Ordinance Campaign” encouraging 25 local governments to pass transit benefit ordinances by 2020.
Today at the 2017 ACT Public Policy Summit, ACT unveiled its goal to reduce millions of drive-alone commuters and congestion by improving access to public transit and other employer-sponsored commute alternatives. ACT outlined three recommended components: a pre-tax plan, transit subsidy and employer-provided shuttle service.
WeDriveU is supporting ACT’s development of educational tools, case studies and local employer workshops under the campaign.
Employers are making an impact in regions with similar initiatives, eliminating an estimated 15,000 drive-alone vehicles daily with WeDriveU Last Mile shuttles to public transit, long-distance Residential Bus Service, Intercampus shuttles and On-Demand services.
WeDriveU and client athenahealth will discuss how organizations are advancing new approaches in breakout session panels:

“WeDriveU applauds ACT for spotlighting actionable strategies, tools and partnerships to reduce congestion, ease parking demand and increase sustainability,” said Joanna Rustin, Vice President, Marketing, WeDriveU. “ACT’s 25 by 20 initiative is a major step in uniting businesses, community partners and solution providers as catalysts in redefining how we commute.”
“Providing the option for commuters to purchase transit passes with pre-tax dollars is one of the most significant incentives available to encourage individuals to use public transit,” said David Straus, Executive Director, Association for Commuter Transportation. “With the support of progressive organizations like WeDriveU, our 25x20 campaign will increase transportation options and value for commuters and businesses in cities across the country.”
