Welspun Corp approved pipe capacity projects in Arkansas and Jordan as profit attributable to owners rose 13.4% in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, extending its manufacturing plans beyond India.
The board approved the unaudited consolidated results Oct. 29. Revenue from operations reached ₹4,643.72 crore, a 6.2% gain from ₹4,373.61 crore a year earlier. Consolidated net profit totaled ₹495.09 crore against ₹443.51 crore; separately, profit attributable to owners was ₹498.56 crore, compared with ₹439.68 crore.
At Little Rock, Arkansas, the board cleared spending of up to $115 million on a new spiral pipe line. The project would add 225,000 metric tonnes of annual capacity to Welspun’s existing U.S. base of 350,000 metric tonnes. The company plans to meet the expense with internally generated funds and targets operations by March 2028. Its filing points to the U.S. oil and gas pipeline order book, demand and long-term market visibility as reasons for the project. In a separate press release, Welspun put its global order book at a record of about ₹50,000 crore. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Vipul Mathur said the total provides visibility over the medium and long term.
The board also approved a proposed partnership with Perma-Pipe International Holdings Inc. to build spiral pipe production and coating facilities in Jordan. The partners plan to invest up to about $125 million, with each expected to contribute roughly half. Planned pipe diameters range from 24 inches to 120 inches. Welspun says the facilities are aimed at regional projects involving water systems, infrastructure, and the oil, gas and energy industries. The project follows a Sept. 1, 2026, memorandum of understanding with developers of Jordan’s National Water Carrier Project and the Jordanian government. The partners still need definitive agreements setting out how the venture will be governed and operated.
In India, Welspun will acquire a 49% stake in Welspun Special Coating Private Limited, while Perma-Pipe Qatar will acquire the remaining 51% from Welspun DI Pipes. The coating venture would add internal fusion-bonded epoxy capabilities. Its planned investment is up to about ₹110 crore, shared according to the ownership stakes.
