Welspun Corp’s latest U.S. pipeline award lifted its disclosed global order book to a record $5.25 billion, adding a Permian natural gas project linked to a hyperscaler-operated data center.
The award went to Welspun Tubular LLC, the company’s U.S. subsidiary, under a contract with an unnamed major midstream company. Welspun said the work covers coated line pipes for a natural gas pipeline in the Permian region, intended to serve a data center complex operated by one of the top-tier hyperscalers. Reuters converted the disclosed value of about ₹5,500 crore to approximately $580.3 million.
The latest win extends a series of U.S. orders disclosed this year. Welspun said a $1.8 billion award announced Aug. 20 took its order book to $4.4 billion; a $412.5 million award disclosed Sept. 25 lifted the total to $4.7 billion. The latest filing states a new record of $5.25 billion.
Welspun scheduled execution at its U.S. facility during FY29, which spans April 2028 through March 2029. It has not disclosed contract margins, pipe volumes or a quarter-by-quarter delivery schedule. Siddharth Maurya, founder and managing director of Vibhavangal Anukulakara Pvt. Ltd., told Livemint that execution performance and the contract’s margin profile will determine what it adds to earnings.
In its FY26 results materials, Welspun cited U.S. LNG demand, electricity needs associated with AI data centers and renewed oil-pipeline infrastructure as demand drivers. Welspun reported FY26 revenue from operations of ₹16,770 crore and EBITDA of ₹2,371 crore. It ended the year with ₹1,627 crore in net cash. Its FY27 guidance calls for revenue of ₹20,000 crore and EBITDA of ₹2,850 crore.
Livemint reported a 1,647% five-year share-price return in its Oct. 23 article. Welspun shares closed Friday at ₹2,391.80 on the BSE, down 1.75%, while the NSE-listed shares ended at ₹2,388.70, down 2.27%.
The next scheduled company date is Thursday, Oct. 29, when the board is due to consider unaudited results for the quarter and half-year ended Sept. 30, 2026.
