Wendy's fast-food chain restaurant is introducing a new food item under its breakfast menu lineup. The company said it has added English muffins to its range of sandwiches for breakfast.
Wendy's English Muffin Sandwiches will be offered in two variants, and customers may opt for either muffin with Applewood Smoked Bacon or one with Grilled Sausage Patty. Both variants are served with melted American cheese and egg. The new muffin sandwiches are said to be light, fluffy, and simply perfect for mornings.
According to QSR Magazine, Wendy's will start serving the new food item on Aug. 22 during breakfast hours. And to celebrate the launch of the English muffin, the fast-food chain is offering a $2 discount when they buy any Breakfast Combo through the Wendy's app.
Customers can avail of this promo for a limited time only - from Aug. 22 to Sept. 3. The new muffin sandwich will be in stores across the United States.
Moreover, if diners order through the Wendy's app, they can also receive reward points that can be used to redeem free food in the restaurant. For the new food item, 450 reward points await customers buying it via the app.
National Restaurant News reported that this new menu is a striking addition to Wendy's breakfast lineup, including Breakfast Baconator, Homestyle French Toast Sticks, and the new Frosty Cream Cold Brew. Moreover, it was said that Wendy's will compete with McDonald's Egg McMuffin by releasing its own English Muffin.
"Fans asked and we answered. As breakfast boundary breakers, we're always looking to cook up new craveable breakfast offerings to add to our stacked breakfast lineup, and we have high standards for what ultimately makes it onto our menu," The Wendy's Company's global vice president of culinary innovation, John Li, said in a statement.
He went on to share that they "tested 60 variations of our English Muffin Sandwiches before we landed on these light and fluffy English Muffins made with a touch of honey and topped with a savory buttery spread, freshly cracked eggs and delicious bacon or sausage for the perfect harmony of breakfast flavors!"
