The Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the Department of Defense (DoD) to employers for their support of National Guard and Reserve members. As the only carrier listed among the finalists, Werner was selected among nearly 2,000 employers.

Finalists represent large and small employers, as well as government organizations. ESGR received nominations for employers in all 50 states, Guam-CNMI, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
