NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It's the end of autumn, and Wines of Chile USA is still raking in the recognition and harvesting honors. This week, Executive Director Marybeth Bentwood was recognized by TFS-Total Food Service magazine as one of the industry's top leaders of 2015.
The TFS-Total Food Service awards honor the women who have made significant contributions to the food service and hospitality industry in 2015 in the New York City metropolitan area. Joining Bentwood in this year's cadre of honorees are such industry notables as Dana Cowin of Food & Wine magazine's Chefs Club, Florence Fabricant of the New York Times and celebrity chef and restaurateur Alex Guarnaschelli.
"They have risen to amazing heights and turned the Greater NYC marketplace into the epicenter of the world's restaurant and food service industry," said Publisher Fred Klashman.
Acknowledging the honor, Bentwood remains focused on what 2016 has in store.
"It's an honor not only to be included in this incredible group of accomplished industry leaders but also to have the opportunity to represent such an exciting category," said Bentwood. "With Chilean wines reaching new heights of both critical acclaim and sales growth in 2015, we look forward to bringing ever more exciting and relevant programs to wine lovers in 2016."
In 2015 Chile recorded significant advancements in the above $10 category in the USA. According to IRI retail data (52 weeks ending Oct. 4, 2015), total US sales of Chilean wine increased across the following price tiers: $15 - $19.99 (+14%) and $20 and up (+6.5%).
The full list of honorees is available at TFS-Total Food Service magazine online.
