Wolters Kluwer agreed to sell its German consumer tax business to Buhl Data Service GmbH for €40 million, a deal the company says will sharpen its focus on professional markets.

The agreement covers Wolters Kluwer Steuertipps GmbH, known as Steuertipps. Wolters Kluwer estimates the unit will generate about €30 million in gross revenue in 2026; that estimate is unaudited.

For its tax and accounting division, Wolters Kluwer said professional markets offer the greatest potential for synergies, durable growth and returns. Wolters Kluwer reported annual revenue of €6.1 billion for 2025.

The agreement was announced Oct. 30. The transaction is expected to be completed within the next few days.
